[00:01:17.000 –> 00:01:28.000] But I think it’s important to understand that we have to allow ourselves to be led by God’s Spirit.

[00:01:28.000 –> 00:01:37.000] We have to allow ourselves to live in a way that it’s less about us and more about Him.

[00:01:37.000 –> 00:01:49.000] Just like the song says, it says for your glory, for your glory, that my life, I live my life to glorify,

[00:01:49.000 –> 00:01:58.000] to bring majesty, to magnify, to lift your name up so that when people look at me, they don’t glorify me.

[00:01:58.000 –> 00:02:01.000] They don’t put me on a pedestal. They don’t call me a celebrity.

[00:02:01.000 –> 00:02:10.000] They don’t put me on these high platforms, but when they look at me, they see the glory of God.

[00:02:16.000 –> 00:02:28.000] They don’t see the individual, but they see the one I serve, the one I worship, the one who saved me.

[00:02:28.000 –> 00:02:42.000] Because I of myself, I didn’t have the strength. I didn’t have the power. I didn’t have the wisdom to pick me up out of the old season saints would say the mirey clay, the muck and the mire.

[00:02:51.000 –> 00:03:15.000] The God that I served that found me and saw me in the midst of my mess and still said that I was worthy to be called his son, worthy to be given a calling worthy enough for his love.

[00:06:13.000 –> 00:06:20.000] And so I thought what came to me was having a heavenly heart we can just say that a heavenly heart.

[00:06:24.000 –> 00:06:30.000] It would be called get a savings account.

[00:06:32.000 –> 00:06:36.000] Get a savings account.

[00:06:36.000 –> 00:06:43.000] And so Matthew 6 19 begins reading lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth.

[00:06:43.000 –> 00:06:50.000] Where moth and rust dove corrupt reading from the King James and where thieves break through and steal.

[00:06:50.000 –> 00:06:54.000] But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven.

[00:06:54.000 –> 00:06:57.000] Where neither mock nor rust dove corrupt.

[00:06:57.000 –> 00:07:00.000] And where thieves do not break through nor steal.

[00:07:00.000 –> 00:07:07.000] For we are treasure is there will your heart be also.

[00:07:40.000 –> 00:07:47.000] And then one of my favorite scriptures growing up learning Matthew 6 33 but seek he first.

[00:07:47.000 –> 00:07:53.000] The kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these things.

[00:07:56.000 –> 00:08:05.000] And now a days when we look I don’t know if you have social media if you have Instagram Facebook tick tock.

[00:08:05.000 –> 00:08:10.000] There’s so many of them Twitter which is now called X.

[00:08:10.000 –> 00:08:14.000] And on a lot of these platforms.

[00:08:14.000 –> 00:08:19.000] You can come across these search pages and they’re recommend recommended.

[00:08:19.000 –> 00:08:24.000] Pictures and videos and so called influencers to follow.

[00:08:24.000 –> 00:08:31.000] And you’ll also find people that are quote unquote I’ll say flexing.

[00:08:31.000 –> 00:08:43.000] Showing showing off what they have showing off the Rose Roy showing off the multi million dollar home showing off this showing off that.

[00:08:43.000 –> 00:08:48.000] And this conversation yesterday with some dear friends.

[00:08:48.000 –> 00:08:55.000] Because one was talking about how she just felt so much pressure to be at a certain level.

[00:08:55.000 –> 00:09:05.000] Because of society showing all these things that we should have and we should be.

[00:09:05.000 –> 00:09:09.000] And so I was talking to her about contentment.

[00:09:09.000 –> 00:09:14.000] And what that means and that is definitely just a mindset.

[00:09:14.000 –> 00:09:23.000] It’s a mindset of gratefulness for what you have and where you are as a mindset and attitude of thankfulness.

[00:09:23.000 –> 00:09:31.000] It’s not an attitude of greed or consumption because we live in a society that is focused on over consumption.

[00:09:31.000 –> 00:09:48.000] Consuming so much and I got to get more I need this I need that I can’t I don’t if I don’t have this then maybe I don’t measure up to others in society.

[00:09:48.000 –> 00:09:58.000] And so the Bible reminds us of the most important things in this text in Matthew six.

[00:09:58.000 –> 00:10:13.000] We’re reminded that accumulating treasures on this earth isn’t our focus a man this is not why we were saved.

[00:10:13.000 –> 00:10:19.000] So what I’m preaching today is completely opposite of the prosperity gospel.

[00:10:19.000 –> 00:10:21.000] That is very popular.

[00:10:21.000 –> 00:10:37.000] Matter of fact I saw someone on Instagram who was boasting that he could if you’re a Bible teacher that he could give you so many more views and so many more followers and so many more lights to make you a millionaire.

[00:10:37.000 –> 00:10:45.000] And this is this is someone who is specifically targeting people preaching the word of God on social media.

[00:10:45.000 –> 00:10:57.000] And I said what are we doing here. Thankfully there were some comments beneath his post that said that this is the type of person that Jesus beat out of the temple.

[00:10:57.000 –> 00:10:59.000] On now come on.

[00:10:59.000 –> 00:11:07.000] The person that is so focused on the materialistic things of this world and look at it.

[00:11:07.000 –> 00:11:25.000] You got a house you got a car you may have you may here’s the thing I told my friend I said, I said what’s the difference between a billionaire and somebody who just has enough to live I said absolutely nothing I said because you both can get from point A to

[00:11:25.000 –> 00:11:33.000] point back to a they just get there a lot more expensively.

[00:11:33.000 –> 00:11:38.000] You both can only eat one meal at a time.

[00:11:38.000 –> 00:11:43.000] You both have somewhere to sleep at night you both have four walls in a roof.

[00:11:43.000 –> 00:11:49.000] There’s just as much more to clean I said so when you really get down to it.

[00:11:49.000 –> 00:11:51.000] What are we chasing.

[00:11:51.000 –> 00:11:54.000] What are we rushing after.

[00:11:54.000 –> 00:12:06.000] What is this sense of approval that we have to make ourselves feel so validated by society and feel pressure to be at a certain level.

[00:12:06.000 –> 00:12:12.000] I have this I have that I don’t you know growing up I remember you know if you got a hoopty.

[00:12:12.000 –> 00:12:18.000] And you had you can drove around and you were you were happy with that.

[00:12:18.000 –> 00:12:31.000] I just saw a video of a young lady a guy her dad bought a BMW for her and she didn’t want it because it wasn’t a Tesla.

[00:12:31.000 –> 00:12:50.000] Our focus is off it’s not about what you have in the checking account it’s not about what you have in your off IRA your 401k your pension is not about what you might receive from the government it’s not about that.

[00:12:50.000 –> 00:13:02.000] For where your treasure is there will your heart be also so Christ reminds us lay up treasures not here because this isn’t our home.

[00:13:02.000 –> 00:13:06.000] Right, right, right.

[00:13:06.000 –> 00:13:14.000] This isn’t where we this isn’t paradise for us this isn’t it might be comfortable at times.

[00:13:14.000 –> 00:13:23.000] But this isn’t our our purpose in the grand scheme of things.

[00:13:23.000 –> 00:13:41.000] I’ll get back. So, the world is seeking after society seeking after all these materialistic treasures everyone’s racing to have more and both and about their net worth and seeing where they measure up, but never satisfied

[00:13:41.000 –> 00:13:49.000] continually chasing that that proverbial rat race right of corporate rat race.

[00:13:49.000 –> 00:14:06.000] So I want to I want to give you some practical practical tips and practical ways because often the answers for the questions that are proposed in scripture are also found in scripture a map.

[00:14:06.000 –> 00:14:19.000] We don’t have to really look at extra biblical books to find the answer for things that are brought up in the world, because Christ provided those answers right there the solution is right there.

[00:14:19.000 –> 00:14:27.000] This is this is the book it’s the holy textbook it is the instruction it is everything.

[00:14:27.000 –> 00:14:35.000] And so you say well what does that mean how do I lay up treasures heavenly right it’s the concept when I thought of it.

[00:14:35.000 –> 00:14:39.000] I thought of it like a bank account.

[00:14:39.000 –> 00:14:49.000] And so every time I do something and every time that the way I treat people.

[00:14:49.000 –> 00:14:52.000] I’m making a deposit.

[00:14:52.000 –> 00:14:58.000] So I’m making a deposit in my heavenly banking account.

[00:14:58.000 –> 00:15:10.000] See because we’re saying that it’s a savings account so I’m making a deposit in my heavenly savings account based upon my lifestyle.

[00:15:10.000 –> 00:15:16.000] So how do we make heavenly deposits to the bank of heaven.

[00:15:16.000 –> 00:15:25.000] And Jesus gave us the answer if you go back to one chapter before we find the answers.

[00:15:25.000 –> 00:15:37.000] It’s when Jesus begins to say blessed are blessed are blessed are blessed are blessed are the poor in spirit right what does that mean those are the people who are humble.

[00:15:37.000 –> 00:15:42.000] They’re not posting they’re not cutting themselves on this pedestal.

[00:15:42.000 –> 00:15:54.000] They’re not the quote unquote celebrities that we see and that we celebrate those who mourn what does that mean those these are the people with empathy for others.

[00:15:54.000 –> 00:16:00.000] There’s so much going on in our world right now there’s people hurting right in our neighborhoods.

[00:16:00.000 –> 00:16:07.000] And these are the people who are in our families they they have that empathy.

[00:16:07.000 –> 00:16:11.000] The meek these are the gentle.

[00:16:11.000 –> 00:16:16.000] And it’s not gentle as in week.

[00:16:16.000 –> 00:16:28.000] But the cross reference there’s probably 15 the first part of verse number one where it says a soft answer turns away rap.

[00:16:28.000 –> 00:16:43.000] These are people who know that they can read a room they they they don’t lash out at people but they have this gentleness and this understanding with their communication.

[00:16:43.000 –> 00:16:47.000] The people blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness.

[00:16:47.000 –> 00:16:55.000] Those who are you know being merciful the peacemakers those who bring peace into situations.

[00:16:55.000 –> 00:17:00.000] And I kept looking I said well another way to look at this is that.

[00:17:00.000 –> 00:17:14.000] How do we how do we make these heavenly deposits you it’s the people who live in the spirit the people who allow the fruits of the spirit to be seen in their lives to be recognized in their lives.

[00:17:14.000 –> 00:17:20.000] They are loving they’re joyful they’re peaceful they’re extremely patient.

[00:17:20.000 –> 00:17:36.000] They’re gentle there’s that word again they’re good they’re they have temperance they show self control so and we’ve talked about this before but it’s when someone maybe bumps into your buggy at the at the grocery store and instead of lashing out at them.

[00:17:36.000 –> 00:17:52.000] I have self control as shouldn’t be getting upset anyway because it’s something so trivial but they show self control and the way that they react and deal with people.

[00:17:52.000 –> 00:18:01.000] So this is how we continue to make these deposits in our heavenly bank account.

[00:18:01.000 –> 00:18:08.000] And so, what do we.

[00:18:08.000 –> 00:18:11.000] Here’s what happens when we.

[00:18:11.000 –> 00:18:18.000] When we’re doing this the right way and when we’re focused on.

[00:18:18.000 –> 00:18:26.000] Encapsulating or living in this way in Matthew 25.

[00:18:26.000 –> 00:18:31.000] This is what it looks like this is what it looks like from a practical standpoint.

[00:18:31.000 –> 00:18:41.000] 2534 to 40 says then show the king say unto them on his right hand come you blessed of my father.

[00:18:41.000 –> 00:18:47.000] He says inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.

[00:18:47.000 –> 00:19:00.000] For I was hungry and you gave me meat I was thirsty and you gave me drink I was a stranger and you took me in naked and you clothed me I was sick and you visited me I was in prison.

[00:19:00.000 –> 00:19:16.000] And you came unto me then show the righteous answer him saying Lord when did we do all these things when did we see you hungry or when did we feed you or we did when were you thirsty and we gave you drink and he says when you saw.

[00:19:16.000 –> 00:19:32.000] You know when we saw a stranger and took you in naked and clothing when did when did we do all these things and the king shall answer and say unto them very I say unto you in as much as you have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren.

[00:19:32.000 –> 00:19:44.000] When you did those things to a stranger to the to the person who did it when you did this you made your life about service.

[00:19:44.000 –> 00:19:48.000] You were doing that unto me.

[00:19:48.000 –> 00:19:57.000] That every time you did that you were making these deposits in the bank of heaven you were storing up treasures.

[00:19:57.000 –> 00:20:03.000] You were just making yet another another deposit.

[00:20:03.000 –> 00:20:14.000] Remember this place isn’t our home it’s not our goal but while we are here as we make these deposits heavenly.

[00:20:14.000 –> 00:20:31.000] We should have the same testimony that Jesus Jesus had acts 1038 it’s a beautiful scripture one of my favorite scriptures and one that I pray that my life reflects that I get better at this.

[00:20:31.000 –> 00:20:42.000] Because this to me is success I don’t care about the financial I don’t care about where I live I don’t care about the coldest sack I don’t care about those things.

[00:20:42.000 –> 00:20:51.000] That’s not my focus I don’t need followers and subscribers I don’t need to be famous I don’t need to be rich.

[00:20:51.000 –> 00:21:02.000] But if I could have this the testimony that Jesus had that to me is true wealth that’s true success.

[00:21:11.000 –> 00:21:26.000] That’s it. Is there any better quality any better reputation that you can have when people talk about you and said you know what that person.

[00:21:26.000 –> 00:21:32.000] I know that person everywhere they just did good.

[00:21:32.000 –> 00:21:36.000] Everywhere they went they just went around doing good.

[00:21:36.000 –> 00:21:45.000] So while we are here on this place that’s not our home that we’re passing through.

[00:21:45.000 –> 00:21:58.000] We should make this place so much better following the testimony of Jesus every environment we enter we should elevate it.

[00:21:58.000 –> 00:22:18.000] See and finally and closing closing when it’s time when it is time to make our withdrawal from the Bank of Heaven.
