Sermon Handout
Purpose of Jesus work was always about saving souls.
- John 20:30 – 31
30 Therefore many other signs Jesus also performed in the presence of the disciples, which are not written in this book; 31 but these have been written so that you may believe that Jesus is the
Christ, the Son of God; and that believing you may have life in His name.
Luke 19:10 (NASB) 10 “For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.”
Romans 10:17 (KJV) 17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Ezra 7:10 (KJV) 10 For Ezra had prepared his heart to seek the law of the LORD, and to do it, and to teach in Israel statutes and judgments.
Acts 17:11 (KJV) 11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.
Acts 4:10; 12 (NASB) 10 let it be known to all of you and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ…12“there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved.”
Luke 13:4 – 5 (NLT) 4 And what about the eighteen people who died when the tower in Siloam fell on them? Were they the worst sinners in Jerusalem? 5 No, and I tell you again that unless you repent, you will perish, too.”
Profound questions Jesus asked:
“Do you believe this, Martha?” (John 11:26 – The raising of Lazarus)
“Who touched my clothes?” (Mark 5:24 – The hemorrhaging woman)
“Would you like to get well?” (John 5:6 – The man at the pool)
“Do you believe in the Son of Man?” (John 9:35 – The man born blind)
“Which is easier, to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Get up, and walk’? (Matt. 9:5 – The paralytic)
