Joshua 6:16 (KJV) “And it came to pass at the seventh time, when the priests blew with the trumpets, Joshua said unto the people, Shout; for the LORD hath given you the city.”

They did not shout because the wall had already fallen. They shouted because God had already spoken.

Joshua 6:20 (KJV)“Sothe people shouted when the priests blew with the trumpets…”

The priests were blowing. The ark was central. The people were obeying. The shout rose out of a sacred atmosphere of praise.

Psalm 47:1 (KJV)“Oclap your hands, all ye people; shout unto God with the voice of triumph.”Psalm 47:5 (KJV) “God is gone up with a shout, the LORD with the sound of a trumpet.”

Trumpet and shout belong together in Scripture as sounds of divine victory.

2 Samuel 6:15 (KJV)“SoDavid and all the house of Israel brought up the ark of the LORD with shouting, and with the sound of the trumpet.”

Hebrews 11:30 (KJV)“Byfaith the walls of Jericho fell down, after they were compassed about seven days.”

The shout at Jericho was not mere noise. It was not emotional hype. It was not random screaming. It was a holy shout—a war-cry of faith, a cry of triumph, and sacred rejoicing because the LORD had given the city.

In Scripture, the shofar was not only for worship and warning; it was also a battle sound that announced God’s intervention and His people’s victory.

Battles won with praise!!!
