A Word of Encouragement to Our Young People!

Will Robinson

1 Tim. 4:12 (NCV) Do not let anyone treat you as if you are unimportant because you are young. Instead, be an example to the believers with your words, your actions, your love, your faith, and your pure life.

We are very proud of our young people, here at the church. You are committed to the Lord Jesus Christ and it shows in your lifestyle. God is showing Himself strong through your testimonies and your aggressiveness for Him. Keep that passion for excellence. Maintain that drive to please Him in all that you do and say. (See Psalms 19:14) We pray that you all continue to sustain your zeal and fervor for the Lord. For if you do, He will bless you and keep you in the center of His will.

Apostle Paul was sharing similar advice with young Timothy when he wrote the above passage. As young people, you are very important to God and you are also very important to the older members of the Body. Together we function as a team. We cannot be completely successful without each other. Paul tells Timothy to be an example to “believers”.

As young people, you are to demonstrate Christ in your lives by your words, your actions, your faith and your purity. We, the older believers, need to witness your commitment and discipline. And this becomes a source of encouragement to us also. So don’t let anyone marginalize your importance to the church! We love you and encourage you all to keep the faith and stand firm for the Lord.

The Psalmist wrote, “He fills my life with good things. My youth is renewed like the eagle’s!” [Psalm 103:5 (NLT)] As He continues to fill your lives with good things you will get stronger and even more youthful. God is always faithful to keep His word. Enjoy your youth, but make sure God is enjoying your youthfulness also. May He always receive glory from your conduct. Keep up the great work!
